—and... exhale—
So, now the U.S. election is over, and the world can finally let out the collective breath it was holding. The future administration is already making its plans, and the rest of the world has a new confidence that those plans will bring America back into the good graces of the global community.
However, there is still much divisiveness within America, and a great deal of nervousness about the tanking economy, and how it might derail our future plans or force serious hardship on individual households. At the very time when Americans need to commit to working together, they continue to stand apart in fear and mutual distrust.
The phrase "Now, more than ever" may be a hackneyed one, but it is painfully appropos. America has reached the tipping point, the moment when it can no longer stand by and hope for the best. Collapse is occurring, and we have to get busy and start picking up the pieces. As long as we have those pieces in-hand, it behooves us to reassemble them in smart, practical, efficient ways, instead of simply piling them together haphazardly and waiting for the inevitable next collapse.
The job will not be easy, nor fun... but it needs to be done, and we well know it. So, tighten your shoelaces and take your neighbor's hand. Time to get to work.
